The article was interesting because it brought attention something I wasn't aware of: the background of the couple in this photo. As for whether it's sexual harassment or not, my vote is maybe so. Still, my own calm, never angry or upset husband is on his first deployment. I will be shocked if I don't get this kind of reaction from him when he finally returns, and we're not even officially at war. I'm slightly concerned I might get mauled in the parking lot from the e-mails my husband sometimes sends me. So maybe it's harassment, but I can understand why. Alcohol + months and months of pent up frustration = bat crap crazy. Our military makes strong, but they make insane too. We wouldn't need the "emotional" aspect of wounded warriors nearly as much if they stopped pushing them to the brink.

Joining the Kissing Sailor Current Debate
I was notified through MSN about the blog http://cratesandribbons.com/2012/09/30/the-kissing-sailor-or-the-selective-blindness-of-rape-culture-vj-day-times-square/ which argues the iconic V Day photo is sexual harassment.
