There's that cynical old saying if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Enter QuiBids.com. I am always on the prowl for good deals, and after researching this novel site I can confirm this is not a good deal.
1st- To bid, you have to spend money. Not just the amount you bid on, you have to put an up front chunk of your money down.
2nd- QuiBids charges you to bid. I thought that would be OK to put my money in escrow, make sure I don't go bidding over the amount in my account. No, this money goes to QuiBids!
3rd- Proxy bidding. This is a form of bidding that's whole purpose (IMO) is to drive up cost. It's 30 seconds until auction, you've got a winning bid, and OOHHhhh, someone just bid $5.00 over you. That's OK, it's a Proxy auction! That means another 5 minutes just went on the clock. And it keeps going on the clock until someone stops bidding. So that great item that started cost at $0.25 actually went for 200 and the auction took an extra 3 days to end. I've seen it happen in other auction sites. Trust me, proxy bidding is a big scam to me and not worth it.
So a little word of advice, QuiBids.com is not all that it seems and my advice is Don't waist your time.
